1. Feeding seals at the Victoria Wharf. This may have been one of my very favorite things about the whole trip. Admiring seals is free and FUN.
2. Dreaming about living along the water's edge, and then getting a fortune cookie to confirm my dreams will come true. I knew it.
3. Poutine!!! Cheese curds and gravy and french fries...yummy.
4. Chinatown, which Jason and I dubbed Little Tokyo. (A little jokey joke, but also evidence I've succumbed to watching South Park with him...and liking it.)
5. The Pink Bicycle, specializing in gourmet burgers. I got the mutton burger with mint dressing. Jason got a cheeseburger. Jason asked me to rank The Pink Bicycle compared to other burger places in Sacramento. I realized I have no frame of reference, because I NEVER order beef burgers. Hmmm. No reason, just a carry-over from my vegetarian days. I'm learning so much about my many quirks on this trip.
6. Evening Ghost Tour!!!!! This was another one of my favorites of the whole trip. (I love me some unexplained weirdness and fodder for my imagination.) Did you know Victoria is acclaimed as one of the most haunted places on earth? And people visit Victoria for "haunted vacations"? I didn't know that until our tour. Did you also know that salt water is supposed to hold in all the energy of the dead? Fascinating. Here's a picture of Jason rolling his eyes. I should have also snapped a picture of him saying for the 10th time, "I must really love you to be on this tour right now."
7. Lots of time with my husband, wandering the city by foot and water taxi, taking pictures, telling stories, and laughing a lot. I love traveling with him. :)
Chinatown, little Tokyo. bahahaha! You guys are cute. Brings me home a seal for my backyard. <3 Sara
ReplyDeleteI love all of this. especially the idea of Jason rolling his eyes at the ghost tour. Love it! seems like such a deserved blissful time together.
ReplyDeleteFun! I have pictures of Aaron and I feeding those very same seals! 5 years ago, almost to the day! creeepy. Aaron probably wuold have refused to go on the haunted tour at all, so yes, your man loves you very much!
